Rehabilitation

Hybrid Dog Training & Rehabilitation is qualified and experienced in a number of areas that creates an integrated approach to rehabilitating your dog from issues.

This can continue beyond a typical rehab program for performance dogs, to continue to build back up to a resonable level of fitness for sports training and competition.

The process

Use the flow chart to make sure you follow the correct process: 

​

1. Decide if you need your veterinarian to complete a fitness release OR rehabilitation referral

​

2. Send them the link to this page, and instructions on which form they need to complete for you

​

3. Contact Hybrid Dog Training to arrange an assessment appointment. 

​

4. Complete the Client Information Form that will be emailed on confirmation of our appointment. 

Exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise Rehabilitation creates an appropriate, and individual exercise program. This is designed to get your dog back from injury or orthopaedic issue to full physical fitness. 

This is appropriate for dogs with lameness, significant orthopaedic issues, and in some situations medical conditions. â€‹

Exercise Rehabilitation may be useful for

  • Osteoarthritis - helps reduce pain and increase mobility

  • Hip/elbow dysplasia

  • Cruciate ligament disease and post operative recovery

  • Neurological conditions

  • ​Recovery from injuries - fractures, soft tissue

  • Obesity - in conjunction with diet

  • Degenerative neuromuscular conditions

  • Recovery from other surgical procedures

  • OCD - Osteochondritis Dessicans

Canine Fitness Training Release 

Some dogs may need their regular veterinarian to complete the release for for Canine Fitness Training. 

​

This includes: 

 - Dogs less that 2 years old

 - Dogs older than 7 years old

 - Dogs with previous orthopaedic issues

 - Dogs with minor medical issues

Rehabilitation Referral Form

For compromised dogs, requiring rehabilitation services the diagnosing veterinarian must complete this referral form, and send a complete clinical history.
